Want to help change the World? We've all had thoughts about changing the world. I for one know that I will not change the world by selling real estate in Robbinsville, New Jersey. But, I can help change the world by passing along great messages I stumble upon. I read this article The Definition of Being a Girl by Lola on the Mother's Fighting for Other's Blog. This wonderful organization has inspired me so I was hoping to inspire YOU. It seems so simple yet so complex. The Girl Effect. Ever heard of it? If not please do yourself and the world a favor and watch this short video. Could world change be that easy?

New York Giants - Home Opener vs The Washington Redskins
The NFL kicked off the 2008 regular season at the home of MY Super Bowl Champion's, The New York Giants. The excitement prior to game time was absolutely intoxicating. A live concert, a military fly over and the chance to sign a beam which is to be used in the construction of the new World trade Center just added to what would be a great night of football.
The Giants won the toss and elected to receive. Eli Manning coming off his MVP performance in the Super Bowl orchestrated an 11 play 84 yard drive capped off by a 1 yard Manning bootleg right putting the Giants up 6-0. John Carnys extra point made it 7-0. The Giants would storm out to a 16-0 lead in the second quarter. This would be all of scoring big blues offense would muster. A 12 yard Jason Campbell to Santana Moss touchdown pass would get the Skins within 16-7 & their only points of the game. Plaxico Burres who signed a new contract extension prior to the game was unstoppable and racked up over 133 yards receiving on a career high 10 catches. Brandon Jacobs steamrolled the Washington defense for 116 yards on the ground. The defense was dominant although the Skins appeared lost trying to navigate 1st year head coach Jim Zorn's new west coast offense. The offensive line play for the Giants was spotty at best as Manning had to rush several of his throws. Eli was not sharp after the first quarter but kept the offense moving the ball enough to keep Washington's offense off the field. It was a special night at The Meadowlands. A 16-7 Giants win sent 76,000 smiling faces to the gates. The Giants now have a 5 game winning streak dating back to the Tampa playoff game and are off to a great start heading into St. Louis next Sunday. Next home game Sunday, September 21st, 2008 vs. Bengals Go Giants!!! Al |
