New Jersey Defies National Housing Trends:

Home Sales Up 4 Percent

 (Edison, NJ)- Sales volume of existing single-family homes, condominiums and co-ops in the first quarter of 2008 increased 4 percent from the same period last year, indicating New Jersey continues to defy national real estate trends.  According to statistics released by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) today, New Jersey's seasonally adjusted annual rate of home sales equaled 169,600.

"Unlike most of the nation, the New Jersey housing market remains stable," said 2008 NJAR®President Drew Fishman, CRS.  "Nationally, total sales for single-family homes, condominiums and co-ops dropped by 22 percent from the previous year, while New Jersey was one of three states to show an increase.  This is just further evidence that New Jersey does not follow national real estate trends."

East Windsor, New Jersey - Real Estate - Green Acre Funding

East Windsor Receives Additional Green Acre Funding

 

East Windsor was recently awarded a $300,000 Green Acres Grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Garden State Preservation Trust. The Township is now working towards using the money to acquire a 25 acre parcel on the south side of Airport Road just west of the of the former East Windsor Speedway site. Along with a neighboring 13.48 acres on Airport Road being donated by the developer of the speedway site, the total open space project is almost 39 acres. The Township also is considering the purchase of an approximately 42.97 acre property on Etra Road. This property is in a rural area of the Township where almost 1,000 acres of farmland have already been preserved through the State Farmland Preservation Program.
